6. Ladakh

Almost everyone atleast once in their life dreams about visiting this place on a bike with their friends, so it had to be on my list. Bounded by two of the highest mountain ranges in the world, the newest union territory of the country is truly a heaven on earth. From peaking mountains to subtle waters, this place looks straight out of some fairy tale comic. The charm of this place will leave you spell bound and no picture taken would do justice to the beauty of the place. From the clear waters of the Pangong lake to the magnetic hill, all the places will make you fall in love with the place. Ladakh will surely make you doubt the proverb, “Journey is more beautiful than the Destination”.

Must Visit Places: Pangong Tso, Khardung La, Tso Moriri, Nubra Valley, Magnetic Hill

7. Rishikesh

If you want that adrenaline pumping, Rishikesh is the place to be. A perfect destination for a group of friends who are looking for both calming environment and would dare to do some adventure sports. Located on convergence of Ganga and Chandrabhaga river, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas it is known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’. You can relax your mind and body by a good session of yoga on the banks of Ganga after a day full of activities like rafting, bungee jumping, zip lining and what not. The famous cafes of the town are a major tourist attraction. The majestic Ganga Arti will make your soul travel closer to the almighty.

8. Pondicherry

The French Rivera of the East or officially known as Puducherry is a perfect blend of Indian culture with French Architecture. This union territory serves as a perfect weekend getaway with friends who want to relax and walk amongst those mustard yellow colonial architectures. The modern cafes and chic boutiques serve mouth-watering French cuisine and a perfect environment for chit chat with your friends leaving all the tensions behind. A bicycle ride or a casual stroll would take you to beaches along the majestic Bay of Bengal wherein you can enjoy the sunset and be mesmerised by both the beauty of nature and man-made architecture.

9. Gangtok

Home to the third highest peak in the world, Sikkim – the capital of Gangtok is a small state located in the North Eastern part of the country. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and thick woodlands every sight is picturesque and pleasing to the eyes. Sikkim is famous for its treks, snow activities and rich biodiversity. The second smallest state of the country is famous for its warm hospitality and lip smacking food. Gangtok provides a perfect place for every group of friends as it is base of many mountain treks and also provides a perfect destination to relax and enjoy mother nature in its glory.

10. Aizawl

Capital of the ‘Songbird of India’ is a perfect travel destination for a group of friends looking to explore a different culture while taking in the magnificent 21 hills covering the state. Mizoram is home not only to magnificent mountain ranges but is also famous for its larger than life festivals which are celebrated by the native tribal of the state in their full glory. Home to various lakes, lush greenery and tall mountains Mizoram is a place to head to if you want to visit a place which is closer to nature and away from man-made concrete structure and still untouched by many tourists. To enter this spectacular state, one needs an Inner Line Pass(ILP) which is valid for 15 days.

Must Visit Places: Reiek, Vantawng Falls, Durtlang Hills, Solomon Temple

Best Time to Visit: Throughout the Year

Covid-19 has not only cancelled all our travel plans for the year but has also cancelled all the reunions and outings with our friends, But there is always a silver lining to the cloud so while praying for a better tomorrow we can always plan a trip with our friends so that we can celebrate the end of the pandemic together tucked in some majestic mountain somewhere or chilling together on some beach.
